By Air


Dublin Airport is only 20 kilometres away. The airport is serviced by Dublin Bus routes (41, 41a, 41b, 41c) which will take you into the city centre where you can transfer onto a bus to Dun Laoghaire. There is also a service called Aircoach, runs coaches which will deliver you in comfort and speed to selected locations around the city. The average price to Dún Laoghaire is around €8. A taxi should cost between €40- €50.

By Boat


Irish Ferries runs services from Pembroke and Holyhead to the Port of Dublin, only 12 kilometres away. When you leave the port travel over the toll bridge and follow the signs to Dún Laoghaire.

Irish Ferries also operates routes from France (Cherbourg) to Ireland

Brittany Ferries operates a route between Roscoff (France) and Cork (ireland). The ferry port in Cork is situated roughly 280km away from Dun Laoghaire. Brittany Ferries also offers 'landbridge services' connecting the continent to Ireland via UK ports

By Train


Travel by DART from Dublin to Dún Laoghaire. The journey offers spectacular views of Dublin Bay. The DART runs every 5 minutes during rush hour periods and every 20 mins during the day.

Irish Rail is the national rail service and operates a regular service throughout the country. The DART links up with Irish Rail at Connolly Station, as it does with The LUAS tram service.

By Bus


Dún Laoghaire is serviced by Dublin Bus. The terminus is located at the DART station. Nightlink services run every hour on the hour from Trinity College between midnight and 3am.

Aircoach provides a 24-hour luxury coach service between Dublin Airport and Killiney /Dalkey, which serve the Royal Marine Hotel in Dun Laoghaire and the Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel in Killiney.

The service is ideally suited to tourists, commuters and the general public looking for a high-quality, reliable, clean and efficient service.You can buy a ticket directly from a company representative at the airport arrivals stop at Dublin airport or alternatively you can purchase one from the driver when boarding the Aircoach at any of the stops. These tickets are valid when travelling to or from Dublin airport to any point along any of the Dublin routes.

The Aircoach Dublin Airport stop is located just outside the Arrivals Halls at both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 .When arriving by coach at Dublin Airport, the first stop will be on the Terminal 2 Departures Road, with the coach then continuing to the Terminal 1 Arrivals Road.

By Car


Dublin is surrounded by the M50 motorway all national roads heading to Dublin are connected to the M50. Dún Laoghaire is located about 7 Kilometres inside the southern side of the motorway.

If you’re heading north on the N11, turn off at the Ballybrack exit and follow the signs all the way in to Dún Laoghaire, it’s a straight run with a couple of roundabouts.

From the city centre there take the N11 via Stillorgan or via Blackrock on the R118 to head for Dun Laoghaire. Both routes are well sign posted.
